Spring-Summer 2016 Collection
Like a refreshing gust of air or a fruit popsicle on a muggy afternoon, for summer 2016 Replay & Sons tells an at once sunny and regenerating story. Moods swing playfully between Contemporary Bohémien fantasies and upbeat Army Pop camo concepts, between Venice Goes to the Beach pastels & stripes and Glam Biker prints or Essential solids.
GIRLS
A light, fanciful spirit with a hint of romanticism. Very much the eclectic Contemporary Bohémien way, all about floral and geo prints, butterfly designs, folk and Provençal influences. Here a fab array of pastel and spray-paint colors – offset by white and never fully saturated shades of black – gently imbue muslin, satin, jersey, macramé, denim. Items include faux-vintage lace sweatshirts, lightweight denim shirts, frocks & overalls, shorts with sweet ruche trim, comfort fit pants in lovely print satin, long skirts and soft girly blouses.
In Army Pop gorgeous brights take turns with white, black and melange tones in setting the pace for a bold new military look. Camouflage works unknown wonders thanks to dazzling contrasts, splotchy dye effects, outsize graphics, allover prints, sequin-foil-glitter decors. There are light bull denim & camo jersey biker jackets, the latest in drop-crotch pants and maxi T-shirts, plus cartoon prints & slogans for sweatshirts, tank tops and tees.
Sea, sun & nature define Venice Goes to the Beach, a vibrantly fresh range featuring a rich palette of hues, prints on a white base, soft easy fits, light bull denim and jersey fabrics. White tees, sweatshirts and maxi skirts welcome flower, palm-tree & parrot motifs, quiet tattoo designs, plus geo stripe patterns possibly in multicolor version. Rib-knit tank tops and fringed T-shirts go with destroyed denim shorts or, in alternative, a wrap-around sarong.
As for Essential, it captures the soul of the collection. What do the trick are mostly white and melange nuances with some fluo or pastel splashes, all in a series of fabrics from jersey to denim, from fleece to bull denim to nylon. Classic basics make a distinctive statement thanks to edgy print techniques, while faded prints, fluo sequins, iridescent foil and strass decors spell out words loud & clear. Topping it all off is a colorful nylon jacket, in addition to sweats with contrast lettering.
Denim tells an equally cool & carefree story as lots of mid and azure blue tones – plus plenty of real color particularly for the supersoft high-performance Hyperflex jeans – set the stage for tattoo prints, camo patterns and patch appliqués. Then there’s the highlight of the season: exclusive Broken Age denim, destroyed mode with wide slits ripped & mended entirely by hand.
BOYS
Here too a fanciful spirit comes à la Contemporary Bohémien with catchy prints & stripes, ultra practical fabrics (fleece, nylon, jersey) and luxuriantly vibrant colors. Cactus & floral motifs decorate sweats, shirts and tees, while the polo takes on a slick rugby appeal. Then there are slub jersey T-shirts with funny slogans, plus easy jogging-style pants in superlight denim.
For little guys as well, the watchwords on the Army Pop front are military & color. Camouflage prints take the lead and, joining forces with fluo brights, conquer T-shirts, jackets and pants. As in the nylon windbreaker with sassy lime yellow splotches; the white-front slacks with patches, back totally camo mode; the camouflage tee with fun garment-printed crack fluo design. All the way to the slimfit multi-wash camo print jacket in seriously faded tones.
Pure relaxation meets sun- and salt-bleached colors in Venice Goes to the Beach. Soft pastels, shades of white & indigo give definition to fresh, crumply sweatshirts and tees: delicate hues in light, skin-caressing fabrics definitely make for look-good feel-good clothes.
Strong on street influences, the Glam Biker range is geared solely to boys. Sweatshirts and tees present powerful on the road-inspired prints, while ergonomic cut pants come in sturdy doubleface fabrics with knee pads to boot.
